General structure of the road network of Ja\u00e9n<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1703\" data-end=\"1766\">The road network of Ja\u00e9n is organized around three main axes:<\/p>\n<ol data-start=\"1768\" data-end=\"2230\">\n<li data-start=\"1768\" data-end=\"1920\">\n<p data-start=\"1771\" data-end=\"1920\"><strong data-start=\"1771\" data-end=\"1789\">The state network<\/strong>, made up of the motorways and national roads that connect the province with the rest of Andalusia and with the centre of Spain.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1921\" data-end=\"2087\">\n<p data-start=\"1924\" data-end=\"2087\"><strong data-start=\"1924\" data-end=\"1945\">The regional network<\/strong>, managed by the Junta de Andaluc\u00eda, which links the main regions with each other and allows the connection between medium and small municipalities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"2088\" data-end=\"2230\">\n<p data-start=\"2091\" data-end=\"2230\"><strong data-start=\"2091\" data-end=\"2120\">The provincial and local network<\/strong>, which articulates the rural territory, linking villages, farmhouses, farms and tourist destinations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p data-start=\"2232\" data-end=\"2518\">Ja\u00e9n has a strategic position on the map of the south of the peninsula, being a natural passage between Andalusia and Castilla-La Mancha. The <strong data-start=\"2365\" data-end=\"2395\">Autov\u00eda del Olivar (A-316),<\/strong> the <strong data-start=\"2400\" data-end=\"2425\">A-44 (Bail\u00e9n-Granada)<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"2431\" data-end=\"2459\">N-322 (Linares-Albacete)<\/strong> are the main arteries that cross its territory. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"2525\" data-end=\"2580\"><\/h2>\n<h2 data-start=\"2525\" data-end=\"2580\"><strong data-start=\"2528\" data-end=\"2580\">2. State network: the great connecting arteries<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3 data-start=\"2582\" data-end=\"2637\"><strong data-start=\"2586\" data-end=\"2637\">A-44: Sierra Nevada \u2013 Costa Tropical Highway<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2638\" data-end=\"3106\">The A-44, also known as the <strong data-start=\"2672\" data-end=\"2717\">Sierra Nevada \u2013 Costa Tropical Highway<\/strong>, runs through Ja\u00e9n from north to south, linking Bail\u00e9n with Granada and, later, with the Mediterranean coast.<br data-start=\"2820\" data-end=\"2823\">In Ja\u00e9n territory, this road crosses municipalities such as Bail\u00e9n, Ja\u00e9n capital, Cambil or Campillo de Arenas. It is one of the main gateways to the province from the north and a fundamental axis to connect with the region of Cazorla through secondary detours. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3108\" data-end=\"3366\">From the A-44, travellers can take the <strong data-start=\"3152\" data-end=\"3161\">A-316<\/strong> in the direction of Torredonjimeno, Martos and Alcal\u00e1 la Real, or connect with the <strong data-start=\"3241\" data-end=\"3250\">N-322<\/strong> towards \u00dabeda and Baeza, two World Heritage cities that serve as a natural prelude to the Sierra de Cazorla.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"3373\" data-end=\"3419\"><\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"3373\" data-end=\"3419\"><strong data-start=\"3377\" data-end=\"3419\">N-322: Road from Linares to Albacete<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"3420\" data-end=\"3750\">The N-322 is the main transverse road that crosses the province of Ja\u00e9n from southwest to northeast. It begins in <strong data-start=\"3519\" data-end=\"3529\">Bail\u00e9n<\/strong>, passes through <strong data-start=\"3540\" data-end=\"3551\">Linares<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"3553\" data-end=\"3562\">\u00dabeda<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"3565\" data-end=\"3593\">Villanueva del Arzobispo<\/strong>, and continues to <strong data-start=\"3612\" data-end=\"3624\">Albacete<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"3625\" data-end=\"3628\">It is the most important road to access the Sierra de Cazorla directly from the north or from the Spanish east. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3752\" data-end=\"3849\">The main accesses to the Natural Park are through the following detours:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"3850\" data-end=\"4026\">\n<li data-start=\"3850\" data-end=\"3931\">\n<p data-start=\"3852\" data-end=\"3931\"><strong data-start=\"3852\" data-end=\"3867\">From \u00dabeda<\/strong>, take the <strong data-start=\"3880\" data-end=\"3889\">A-319<\/strong> towards Peal de Becerro and Cazorla.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"3932\" data-end=\"4023\">\n<p data-start=\"3934\" data-end=\"4023\"><strong data-start=\"3934\" data-end=\"3968\">From Villanueva del Arzobispo<\/strong>, via the <strong data-start=\"3985\" data-end=\"3995\">A-6206<\/strong> towards Mog\u00f3n and the <strong data-start=\"4013\" data-end=\"4022\">A-319<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"4027\" data-end=\"4189\">In addition to its tourist function, the N-322 is essential for agricultural transport and the exit of olive oil to the Mediterranean axis and the centre of the peninsula.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"4196\" data-end=\"4254\"><\/h2>\n<h2 data-start=\"4196\" data-end=\"4254\"><strong data-start=\"4199\" data-end=\"4254\">3. The regional network: regional and tourist connection<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"4256\" data-end=\"4490\">The Junta de Andaluc\u00eda manages a set of roads that complement the state network, linking regional capitals, rural areas and mountain areas. Among them, those that lead directly to the <strong data-start=\"4468\" data-end=\"4489\">Sierra de Cazorla<\/strong> stand out: <\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"4492\" data-end=\"4555\"><strong data-start=\"4496\" data-end=\"4555\">A-319: the emblematic road of the Sierra de Cazorla<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"4556\" data-end=\"5061\">Without a doubt, the <strong data-start=\"4569\" data-end=\"4578\">A-319<\/strong> is the most representative road in the Natural Park. It starts in <strong data-start=\"4636\" data-end=\"4655\">Peal de Becerro<\/strong>, crosses <strong data-start=\"4667\" data-end=\"4678\">Cazorla<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"4681\" data-end=\"4694\">La Iruela<\/strong>, and enters the heart of the park to <strong data-start=\"4740\" data-end=\"4759\">Vadillo Castril<\/strong> and the <strong data-start=\"4765\" data-end=\"4787\">Parador de Cazorla<\/strong>, to continue later to <strong data-start=\"4818\" data-end=\"4831\">Burunchel<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"4834\" data-end=\"4848\">Santo Tom\u00e9<\/strong>, linking up with the Segura area.<br data-start=\"4882\" data-end=\"4885\">Its mountain route, full of panoramic curves, offers spectacular viewpoints over the Guadalquivir valley, the Tranco reservoir and the peaks of Gilillo or Yelmo. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5063\" data-end=\"5152\">Along its route are some of the most emblematic points of the park:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"5153\" data-end=\"5372\">\n<li data-start=\"5153\" data-end=\"5206\">\n<p data-start=\"5155\" data-end=\"5206\">The <strong data-start=\"5158\" data-end=\"5204\">Torre del Vinagre Interpretation Centre<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5207\" data-end=\"5249\">\n<p data-start=\"5209\" data-end=\"5249\">The <strong data-start=\"5212\" data-end=\"5247\">Source of the Guadalquivir River<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5250\" data-end=\"5287\">\n<p data-start=\"5252\" data-end=\"5287\">The <strong data-start=\"5255\" data-end=\"5285\">Tranco de Beas Reservoir<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"5288\" data-end=\"5372\">\n<p data-start=\"5290\" data-end=\"5372\">The towns of <strong data-start=\"5309\" data-end=\"5320\">Cazorla<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"5322\" data-end=\"5335\">La Iruela<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"5337\" data-end=\"5350\">Burunchel<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"5353\" data-end=\"5372\">Vadillo Castril<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"5374\" data-end=\"5516\">It is also a key road for active tourism and access to hiking trails, viewpoints, recreational areas and rural accommodation.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"5523\" data-end=\"5570\"><\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"5523\" data-end=\"5570\"><strong data-start=\"5527\" data-end=\"5570\">A-315: connection from Baza and Pozo Alc\u00f3n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"5571\" data-end=\"5934\">The <strong data-start=\"5574\" data-end=\"5583\">A-315<\/strong> connects the Altiplano of Granada (Baza) with the north of the province of Ja\u00e9n. As it passes through <strong data-start=\"5674\" data-end=\"5688\">Pozo Alc\u00f3n<\/strong>, it serves as a natural access to the southern sector of the Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas Natural Park.<br data-start=\"5779\" data-end=\"5782\">From this road you can reach <strong data-start=\"5827\" data-end=\"5840\">the La Bolera<\/strong> reservoir, one of the most spectacular places in the park, and link up to <strong data-start=\"5908\" data-end=\"5919\">Quesada<\/strong> or <strong data-start=\"5922\" data-end=\"5931\">Huesa<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5936\" data-end=\"6097\">The A-315 also connects with the <strong data-start=\"5977\" data-end=\"5986\">N-322<\/strong> at Torreperogil, serving as an alternative route for those accessing from the southeast of the peninsula.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"6104\" data-end=\"6199\"><\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"6104\" data-end=\"6199\"><strong data-start=\"6108\" data-end=\"6199\">A-6204 and A-6206: the secondary network linking the Guadalquivir and Guadalimar valleys<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"6200\" data-end=\"6585\">These secondary roads link the eastern part of the province with the main network. The <strong data-start=\"6295\" data-end=\"6305\">A-6204<\/strong> connects Santo Tom\u00e9 with Beas de Segura, crossing landscapes of olive groves, pine forests and mountain ranges. For its part, the <strong data-start=\"6411\" data-end=\"6421\">A-6206<\/strong> connects Villanueva del Arzobispo with Mog\u00f3n and the A-319, being a frequent passage for those heading to the Tranco reservoir or to the inland villages of the park.  <\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"6592\" data-end=\"6637\"><\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"6592\" data-end=\"6637\"><strong data-start=\"6596\" data-end=\"6637\">A-317 and A-3175: access from the north<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"6638\" data-end=\"6995\">From the province of Albacete and Campo de Montiel you can access the Sierra de Segura, which is part of the same massif as Cazorla. These roads cross landscapes of great beauty and connect with the villages of <strong data-start=\"6863\" data-end=\"6886\">Segura de la Sierra<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"6888\" data-end=\"6898\">Hornos<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"6900\" data-end=\"6912\">Pontones<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"6915\" data-end=\"6938\">La Puerta de Segura<\/strong>, all of them integrated into the Natural Park. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"7002\" data-end=\"7052\"><\/h2>\n<h2 data-start=\"7002\" data-end=\"7052\"><strong data-start=\"7005\" data-end=\"7052\">4. Provincial Network: the heartbeat of the peoples<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"7054\" data-end=\"7281\">The Provincial Council of Ja\u00e9n manages an extensive network of provincial roads (identified with the prefix <strong data-start=\"7158\" data-end=\"7168\">JA-xxx<\/strong>) that guarantee communication between villages, rural areas, agricultural holdings and small urban centres.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"7283\" data-end=\"7466\">In the region of Cazorla, these roads play a fundamental role in accessing farmhouses, rural accommodation, recreational areas and viewpoints. Some of the most prominent are: <\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"7467\" data-end=\"7856\">\n<li data-start=\"7467\" data-end=\"7533\">\n<p data-start=\"7469\" data-end=\"7533\"><strong data-start=\"7469\" data-end=\"7480\">JA-7200<\/strong>, which connects Cazorla with the town of Vadillo Castril.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"7534\" data-end=\"7588\">\n<p data-start=\"7536\" data-end=\"7588\"><strong data-start=\"7536\" data-end=\"7547\">JA-7202<\/strong>, which connects La Iruela with Burunchel.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"7589\" data-end=\"7693\">\n<p data-start=\"7591\" data-end=\"7693\"><strong data-start=\"7591\" data-end=\"7602\">JA-7204<\/strong>, which links Arroyo Fr\u00edo with the Puente de las Herrer\u00edas and the Source of the Guadalquivir.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"7694\" data-end=\"7856\">\n<p data-start=\"7696\" data-end=\"7856\"><strong data-start=\"7696\" data-end=\"7707\">JA-7106<\/strong>, which connects Quesada with T\u00edscar and the Sanctuary of the Virgin of T\u00edscar, one of the most important pilgrimage sites in the province.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"7858\" data-end=\"8114\">These roads, although narrower and winder, offer added value: they are the routes that allow you to discover the lesser-traveled secrets of the Sierra de Cazorla, with landscapes ranging from centuries-old olive groves to black pine forests.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"8121\" data-end=\"8187\"><\/h2>\n<h2 data-start=\"8121\" data-end=\"8187\"><strong data-start=\"8124\" data-end=\"8187\">5. Main accesses to the Sierra de Cazorla region<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"8189\" data-end=\"8305\">There are three main routes to access the region from different parts of Andalusia and the rest of Spain:<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"8307\" data-end=\"8362\"><strong data-start=\"8311\" data-end=\"8362\">Route 1: From Ja\u00e9n capital on the A-316 and A-319<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"8363\" data-end=\"8416\">It is the most direct route from the provincial capital.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"8417\" data-end=\"8641\">\n<li data-start=\"8417\" data-end=\"8526\">\n<p data-start=\"8419\" data-end=\"8526\">Take the <strong data-start=\"8430\" data-end=\"8439\">A-316<\/strong> (Autov\u00eda del Olivar) towards Torredonjimeno, Martos, Alcaudete and then J\u00f3dar.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"8527\" data-end=\"8641\">\n<p data-start=\"8529\" data-end=\"8641\">From there, a detour connects with <strong data-start=\"8563\" data-end=\"8572\">\u00dabeda<\/strong> and then with the <strong data-start=\"8597\" data-end=\"8606\">A-319<\/strong> towards Peal de Becerro and Cazorla.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"8643\" data-end=\"8795\">This itinerary crosses the heart of the olive grove landscape, with comfortable stretches and open views. It is ideal for those arriving from Cordoba or Seville. <\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"8802\" data-end=\"8864\"><\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"8802\" data-end=\"8864\"><strong data-start=\"8806\" data-end=\"8864\">Route 2: From Madrid or Castilla-La Mancha on the N-322<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"8865\" data-end=\"9203\">Travellers from the centre of the peninsula arrive via the <strong data-start=\"8934\" data-end=\"8941\">A-4<\/strong> to Bail\u00e9n and from there take the <strong data-start=\"8977\" data-end=\"8986\">N-322<\/strong> in the direction of Albacete.<br data-start=\"9011\" data-end=\"9014\">When you arrive in <strong data-start=\"9026\" data-end=\"9035\">\u00dabeda<\/strong>, take the detour to <strong data-start=\"9061\" data-end=\"9088\">Peal de Becerro (A-319)<\/strong> to enter the region.<br data-start=\"9115\" data-end=\"9118\">This route is especially popular with tourists from the east and north of Spain.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"9210\" data-end=\"9279\"><\/h3>\n<h3 data-start=\"9210\" data-end=\"9279\"><strong data-start=\"9214\" data-end=\"9279\">Route 3: From Granada and the Costa Tropical via the A-44 and A-315<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"9280\" data-end=\"9676\">From the south, the <strong data-start=\"9297\" data-end=\"9305\">A-44<\/strong> leads to Baza, where it connects with the <strong data-start=\"9349\" data-end=\"9358\">A-315<\/strong>. This road ascends to <strong data-start=\"9390\" data-end=\"9404\">Pozo Alc\u00f3n<\/strong>, at the southern end of the park, and allows access to areas of high interest such as the La Bolera reservoir, the Guazalamanco Stream or the Sierra del Pozo.<br data-start=\"9559\" data-end=\"9562\">It is the preferred option for those who visit Cazorla from the Costa del Sol, the Alpujarra or the province of Granada. <\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"9683\" data-end=\"9751\"><\/h2>\n<h2 data-start=\"9683\" data-end=\"9751\"><strong data-start=\"9686\" data-end=\"9751\">6. A network at the service of tourism and sustainable development<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"9753\" data-end=\"10063\">Ja\u00e9n&#8217;s road network not only fulfils a logistical function; it is also the basis of tourism and rural development. The Natural Park of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas receives hundreds of thousands of visitors a year, and its accessibility depends directly on the quality of the roads that surround it. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"10065\" data-end=\"10254\">The improvement programs promoted by the Provincial Council and the Junta de Andaluc\u00eda seek to make tourist access compatible with environmental conservation. Some recent performances include: <\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"10255\" data-end=\"10523\">\n<li data-start=\"10255\" data-end=\"10331\">\n<p data-start=\"10257\" data-end=\"10331\">Reinforcement of road surface and signage on the <strong data-start=\"10296\" data-end=\"10305\">A-319<\/strong> between Peal and Burunchel.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"10332\" data-end=\"10410\">\n<p data-start=\"10334\" data-end=\"10410\">Installation of panoramic viewpoints and rest areas on the <strong data-start=\"10397\" data-end=\"10407\">A-6204<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"10411\" data-end=\"10523\">\n<p data-start=\"10413\" data-end=\"10523\">Rehabilitation of historic bridges and improvement of drainage on provincial roads in the area of El Tranco.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"10525\" data-end=\"10699\">The objective is to maintain a safe, functional and sustainable network, which favors the mobility of residents and visitors without altering the fragile ecological balance of the mountain range.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"10706\" data-end=\"10754\"><\/h2>\n<h2 data-start=\"10706\" data-end=\"10754\"><strong data-start=\"10709\" data-end=\"10754\">7. Connectivity with public transport<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"10756\" data-end=\"10993\">Although private vehicles are still the most common option to access Cazorla, the province has a network of <strong data-start=\"10878\" data-end=\"10904\">intercity buses<\/strong> that connects Ja\u00e9n capital, \u00dabeda, Baeza and Cazorla with the main Andalusian cities.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"10995\" data-end=\"11307\">\n<li data-start=\"10995\" data-end=\"11082\">\n<p data-start=\"10997\" data-end=\"11082\">From <strong data-start=\"11003\" data-end=\"11011\">Ja\u00e9n<\/strong> there are daily services to <strong data-start=\"11040\" data-end=\"11049\">\u00dabeda<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"11051\" data-end=\"11062\">Cazorla<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"11065\" data-end=\"11079\">Pozo Alc\u00f3n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"11083\" data-end=\"11211\">\n<p data-start=\"11085\" data-end=\"11211\">From <strong data-start=\"11091\" data-end=\"11101\">Madrid<\/strong>, several companies offer direct lines to <strong data-start=\"11150\" data-end=\"11161\">Cazorla<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"11164\" data-end=\"11175\">Quesada<\/strong>, especially in high season.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"11212\" data-end=\"11307\">\n<p data-start=\"11214\" data-end=\"11307\">In <strong data-start=\"11217\" data-end=\"11226\">\u00dabeda<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"11229\" data-end=\"11238\">Baeza<\/strong> there are regular connections with the villages around the park.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"11309\" data-end=\"11456\">The future improvement of <strong data-start=\"11330\" data-end=\"11360\">transport on rural demand<\/strong> and the promotion of cycling routes will complement sustainable mobility within the park.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"11463\" data-end=\"11521\"><\/h2>\n<h2 data-start=\"11463\" data-end=\"11521\"><strong data-start=\"11466\" data-end=\"11521\">8. Historical and cultural value of the ancient routes<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"11523\" data-end=\"11906\">Today&#8217;s roads follow, in many cases, the layouts of ancient Roman, medieval and transhumance roads. The <strong data-start=\"11647\" data-end=\"11670\">Roman Route<\/strong> that linked C\u00e1stulo (Linares) with Carthago Nova (Cartagena), or the <strong data-start=\"11734\" data-end=\"11760\">Camino de los Vadillos<\/strong>, which crossed the forests of Cazorla to transport wood, are examples of the historical legacy that can still be perceived in the modern road network. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"11908\" data-end=\"12148\">The attentive visitor will discover old stone bridges, cobbled roads and secondary roads that today serve as trails or mountain bike routes, demonstrating how road infrastructure is an inseparable part of the cultural heritage of Ja\u00e9n.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"12155\" data-end=\"12223\"><\/h2>\n<h2 data-start=\"12155\" data-end=\"12223\"><strong data-start=\"12158\" data-end=\"12223\">9.
