Beautiful and superb circular route of short distance that makes us enjoy another of the most beautiful corners of Cazorla. Ideal route to do with the family with children, due to its short itinerary of 2 km. The Cerrada del Utrero is one of the most spectacular trails in the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas Natural Park. It runs along the slope of the leafy riverbed that the Guadalquivir River has carved a few kilometres from its source. Inside the Cerrada there are cracks, cuts and large cliffs on which lush vegetation grows that seems to defy the forces of gravity. As you descend, you hear the murmur of the river and, in the rainy season, the roar of the Linarejos waterfall is surprising. In addition to this unique landscape, there are cliffs where easy-to-observe birds of prey nest, such as griffon vultures or peregrine falcons. I suggest bringing binoculars to observe the many rock-dwelling birds that nest on the rocky face in front of our path. As we pass the Linarejos waterfall we will be able to see these small species, such as the swift, the blue rock thrush or the white wagtail and share space with other much larger ones such as the griffon vulture, and at the end of the route I suggest going to visit the small town of Vadillo-Castril, where the old Renfe sawmill used to be and which today is the headquarters of two organizations of great importance for the Natural Park: the School of Forest Foremen and the Forest Defense Center. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
