SIERRA DE CAZORLA RURAL DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION
On January 29, 1996, the Sierra de Cazorla Rural Development Association was constituted, promoted by the nine municipalities of the Sierra de Cazorla Region, as a non-profit entity under the expectations generated for the participation of rural areas in the Rural Development Programs, which after the entry of Spain into the European Community (1986), in a context in which the rural world was in decline with multiple problems of depopulation, ageing, loss of income, masculinisation, deficiency of services, etc.
The Association’s primary purpose is the promotion of socio-economic, local and rural development within the necessary scope of action at all times, seeking the full participation of all its members and all the residents of the towns included in the territorial scope of the Sierra de Cazorla region.
To achieve this objective, the Association may carry out the activities established in Article 5 of its statutes, these being the following:
- Information and advice for business initiatives.
- To boost the economy of the territory, raising awareness in the social fabric of the region about the problems, resources, actions and projects that contribute to its development.
- The projection, preparation and execution of any actions or activities necessary to achieve adequate training and permanent updating of all the groups linked to development and, especially, of the members of the Association.
- Provision of non-regulated training actions.
- One-stop shop for grants and subsidies, applying to any instance, and executing where appropriate, the implementation of any Programmes and Projects relating to the
Local and Regional Development either to be carried out within the national territory or in any foreign country. - Carry out any activities that may be related, antecedent or consequent to the above.
- To collaborate with the Andalusian Autonomous Administration, in the management and/or execution of Plans, Programmes or actions that have an impact on the rural development of the territorial area of the Association and, in particular, in the management and execution of the Rural Development Programmes of Andalusia and the plans that develop them. To make this collaboration possible, the Association will participate in the processes that are legally established, and in particular, in the selection process to acquire the status of Rural Development Group of Andalusia.
- Participation, implementation and collaboration in activities and projects related to International Cooperation for Development.
